Best Seattle Beaches:
Our recent "Best Seattle Parks" feature touches on a lot of park amenities, but let's be real: right now you want the best place to dip your feet in the water, hit a volleyball around, and get sand in your clothes.
In no particular order:
Madrona Park - Capitol Hill's hippest meet Lake Washington. Skinny jeans can float!
Alki - Seattle's own little Venice Beach. With better fish and chips.
Golden Gardens - Trains every half hour. Sunsets applauded nightly. Some things are just right, and Ballard's Golden Gardens is one of them.
Discovery Park - Sand, who needs sand? A rocky, mossy, driftwood-covered beach that only a Northwesterner could love. Accessible only by a moderate hike.
Secret Nude Beach - You didn't think I'd spill the beans here, did you? Rest assured, aspiring naturists, it's out there. I'll give one hint: it's not on the Sound.
